HOMS was founded by two engineers who encountered the same problem from different sides: real estate had enormous amounts of information, but no consistent system for turning it into clear, structured decisions.

One brought deep experience in real estate markets, property evaluation, and investment thinking.

The other brought AI, machine learning, decision-support systems, and research discipline.

HOMS was created where those two disciplines meet.

From the real estate side

Moji saw that important property decisions required manually connecting listing information, comparable sales, property condition, market conditions, financing, neighbourhood context, documents, and human experience.

The problem wasn't finding information. The problem was deciding which information should change the decision.

From the AI side

Mahsa saw a familiar systems challenge: fragmented data, inconsistent workflows, uncertainty, and decisions requiring evidence from multiple sources.

The opportunity wasn't another search portal. It was the intelligence layer between what we know about a property and what someone should consider doing next.

Moji Dargahi

Co-Founder & Lead Advisor

Realtor, investor, and the analytical brain behind the HOMS Property Score.

Moji co-founded HOMS after a decade splitting his time between engineering work and active investing across Metro Vancouver. He built the firm around a simple conviction: real estate decisions deserve the same rigor as any other multi-million-dollar transaction — modeled, stress-tested, and defended with data.

Today he leads the advisory practice, personally underwrites every deal that comes through the desk, and authors the quarterly market reports clients use to plan their next move. He is a licensed BC REALTOR® and holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a Master's in AI & Finance from Western University.

The research scientist behind the HOMS models — turning messy market data into forecasts, valuations, and recommendations you can trust.

Mahsa leads the AI and data science behind HOMS: the forecasting models that power the HOMS Property Score, the deal-screening pipelines that filter hundreds of listings down to the handful worth a serious look, and the language models that turn raw market data into reports clients actually read. If a number on our dashboard moves overnight, it moves because one of her systems decided it should.

Before HOMS she earned a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, where her research applied machine learning to medical imaging and cancer detection — work that demanded rigour, uncertainty quantification, and models people could stake real decisions on. She brings that same discipline to real estate, so the technology stays invisible and the advice gets sharper.
